The Astra Empire comprises all of the dominions, colonies, protectorates, mandates, and other territories ruled or administered by the Astra Confederacy, originating from various trade routes, alliances, and colonies established since the Confederacy's formation following The Overthrow some 1000 years ago.

History

Origins

The historical veracity of The Overthrow or anything occuring prior to it is largely subject to speculation and rumor. With no written records of the time before the establishment of the Orichalcum Throne, any and all information from that time frame must be derived from legend and oral tradition. Obviously, the lack of ANY documents of any kind suggests that humanity was, at least in some way, extremely reduced from its present state. Given the various traditional accounts corroborate the notion of all or most of human-kind being enslaved, this is very likely the case.

The emergence of the Confederacy, and the birth of modern society, was precipitated by the discovery of the Aetheric Artifacts
