There is no denying what you know. Oh, you can certainly deny what you have seen, and you can disbelieve anything if you try hard enough. But Descartes wasn't far off when he said that conscious thought is the only demonstrable aspect of existence. Dream or not, worth the effort or not, the only fate you can choose is your own. And that might not be as important as you think.

As Nietzsche said, when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes right back.
